Heated storage units in Grand Forks, BC.

Indoor lockers inside a heated building, with level drive-up entry. Your furniture, paperwork and electronics stay dry and above freezing through a Boundary Country winter, and you can wheel everything straight in.

Why heat matters in Grand Forks.

Two things damage stored belongings over a winter here. Anything holding water freezes and splits. And every swing in temperature pulls moisture out of the air onto cold surfaces, then dries it, then does it again. That cycle warps wood, spots fabric, rusts metal and gets inside electronics.

A heated building takes both problems off the table. It stays above freezing all winter and it smooths out the swings. The longer version, with a list of what does and does not need it, is in our guide to heated versus unheated storage.

Heated, not climate controlled. People searching for climate controlled storage in Grand Forks usually want protection from freezing, and that is what we provide. We heat the building; we do not control humidity. We would rather say so plainly than use the bigger word.

What belongs in a heated unit.

WORTH THE HEAT

Put these inside

  • Televisions, computers and anything with a circuit board
  • Wood furniture, pianos, guitars and antiques
  • Mattresses, couches, leather and clothing
  • Business records, books, photographs and artwork
  • Inventory and supplies you would hate to open damp
FINE OUTSIDE

These can go in the yard

  • RVs, boats and trailers that have been winterized
  • Vehicles and work equipment
  • A shipping container you own

Those belong in our fenced compound, behind the same gate.

Level drive-up entry.

You park at the building and walk or wheel straight in. There are no stairs, no ramps and no elevator between your vehicle and your locker, so a hand truck or a furniture dolly does the heavy work. If you are moving a fridge, a filing cabinet or a parent's household on your own, that is the difference between one trip and a very long day.

You bring your own lock and keep the only key. Rentals are month to month. Lockers come in a range of sizes; call for what is open today and the rate, or read how much storage space you need first.

Heated storage questions.

Is heated storage the same as climate controlled storage?

Not quite. Climate controlled usually means both temperature and humidity are managed. Our building is heated so it stays above freezing all winter, which is what protects most household and business goods here. We do not control humidity.

Do I really need a heated unit for furniture?

For solid wood, veneer, upholstery and mattresses, yes if they will sit through a winter. Cold and damp cycles loosen joints, lift veneer and leave fabric smelling of mildew. Metal shelving and plastic bins do not care.

How do I know what size of heated locker to rent?

Make a rough list and call us, and we will tell you honestly which locker fits. Count your boxes, measure your three biggest items, and remember that stacking does a lot of the work. Our size guide walks through it.

Does the introductory offer apply to heated units?

Yes. New rentals of up to four months get the first month at half the regular rate, on every locker size.
